New Patient Center

What to Expect at Our New Patient Center

If you have never been to a Birmingham chiropractor before, the prospect of going can seem like quite the ordeal. At Collins Chiropractic Center, we try to keep your experience comfortable. We have two qualified chiropractors to choose from as well as a dedicated staff that is ready to guide you toward the best type of treatment for you. If you are a veteran of the U.S. Armed forces, we can work with the V.A. medical center to have your treatment paid for in full, with a referral.

Filling Out Paperwork

Since you're seeking chiropractic care, chances are you're in pain, which makes everything harder. If you're like most people you probably dread sitting in the waiting room with a clipboard trying to get the forms filled out right. Fortunately, if you're going to Collins Chiropractic Center in Birmingham, AL this is one area we give you a break on. You can start the process online by downloading our new patient health history form and you can choose whether to fax the form to us before your appointment or bring it with you.

By taking care of this step at home, you can take your time with it, and make sure any information you give us is accurate.

Learning the Environment

Going to a chiropractor is a different experience than going to another type of doctor. Rather than sending you on your way with a prescription to take care of your pain, we are going to enlist you to be part of the healing solution. Your bones, muscles, tendons, nerves, and even the fluids in your body are designed to work together to make everything work right and with little or no pain. It's like going to a concert, and finding out the bass player forgot to tune his instrument. Everyone else may be great, but until the other band members offer up that nudge, the sound is going to be pretty painful. Chiropractic care provides that nudge. It finds out which "player" is out of tune and works with the rest of your body to get it back on the right track, meaning less pain for you

Interacting With Doctors and Staff

When you arrive at the clinic, our staff will take your paperwork, or look it up if you have already faxed it to us.  After that, one of our doctors of chiropractic will conduct any necessary diagnostic testing in order to determine the best treatment plan for you. Your chiropractor will outline what to expect for your treatment, and let you know your role in the healing process, which may include things like doing certain exercises at home, taking supplements, or including nutrients in your diet.
